Melbourne, Australia: The largest dedicated RIS provider in Australia and New Zealand, Comrad Medical Systems, today announced it has signed an agreement with Mercy Health to supply and implement the COMRAD RIS solution at Mercy Hospital for Women’s radiology department, replacing their existing scheduling and billing providers.

Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy Health is a dynamic and growing organisation, caring for people through all stages of life. In addition to acute and subacute hospital care, they provide aged care, mental health programs, maternity and specialist women’s and newborns’ health services, early parenting services, home care services and health worker training and development.

“The Mercy Hospital for Women is an innovative, tertiary women’s hospital which specialises in maternity, gynaecology and neonatal services,” said Dr. Virginia Saxton, Director of Radiology at Mercy Hospital for Women. “We are one of only four neonatal intensive care units in metropolitan Melbourne. This is why we went through an extensive evaluation process to choose the right RIS solution to help us strengthen our position as an efficient, effective and responsive provider of women’s public health services.”

The project will see COMRAD RIS fully integrated to Mercy Hospital for Women’s existing Patient Administration System (PAS), Sonography Information System and the hospital Clinical Information System.

“Comrad is delighted to win this tender and look forward to helping Mercy Health to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and achieve better quality and patient outcomes.” Said Elizabeth Delahunty, CEO of Comrad. “As a leading provider of healthcare IT solutions in Australia and New Zealand, we are committed to improving radiology patient experience by enabling workflow efficiencies. We are confident that our Comrad RIS solution will empower the team at Mercy Health to be better equipped to respond to the current and emerging patient needs.”

Mercy Hospital for Women is based in Heidelberg in Melbourne, only 12 kilometres from the city.
